Who is the head of the ceremonial that stole the show at the inauguration with a polka dot dress and a lot of morals

by

The idea was to be discreet. But, no matter how hard she tried, Ana Tereza Lyra Meirelles drew a lot of attention during President Lula’s inauguration, on Sunday (1st), in Brasília. To say that she “stole the show” would be a cliché, but — let’s be fair — that’s what happened on several occasions.

A lawyer from Paraíba with the title of expert in ceremonial and protocol from the University of Oviedo, in Spain, Ana has been head of ceremonial for the Presidency of the Senate for eight years (she has been on the team for 17) and left the viewers who saw her in action on TV in awe. . She conducted and organized every detail of the ceremony and the arrival of the authorities, showing who was in charge there —but without ever losing tenderness.

And she still had that dress.

“What a wonderful woman is that in a polka dot dress, my father? In love here”, posted a Twitter user, in one of the many complimentary comments about her outfit and her “port”, which were repeated throughout that day. “Wandinha da posse” and “Mortícia”, in a reference to the Addams Family character, were other associations to her name.

She didn’t like being called Mortícia, despite the flattering comments, perhaps in subtle mentions of her resemblance, at times, to actress Anjelica Huston, one of her most famous interpreters. “I hope that was really a compliment…”

And the dress? Slightly below the knee (midi, for intimates), with a polka dot print, marked waist and collar style, it was bought by Ana in October, at one of the Hobbs stores, in London. “I went out to pick out the outfit specifically for this event, and when I laid eyes on this [modelo]I loved it,” she tells the F5. “I don’t understand much about fashion, I go more feeling“, he admits.

When doing a self-criticism, she believes she got the outfit right. “I think this dress has a refinement and a certain modesty at the same time”, she defines. “It was discreet and delicate,” she says.

Founded in 1981, Hobbs is a well-known brand in England, does not charge exorbitant prices and has Princess Kate Middleton as one of its admirers. Dresses, overcoats, clutches… Kate has several pieces from the brand, some for less than 100 pounds (R$ 650 at current exchange rates). The clothes that Ana wore in the possession, by the way, cost 229 pounds (about R$ 1,500). This is the Lilibele model, one of the bestsellers.

When describing the dress that was so successful (“it’s pure silk, very feminine”), Ana says she doesn’t know how to define the black creases on the hem. “Clefts?”, the reporter wants to know. “Could it be? No, cracks look like something else, nothing to do with it”, she thinks aloud, and then suggests a solution: “I’ll ask my mother”.

An hour later, the following message appears on WhatsApp: “Hello! Just to give you feedback on the name of the detail on the skirt of the dress. It was suggested: A-line skirt with bicolor pleat”. Long live mother!
