The series will consist of 12 stamps and will go on sale on January 12
The British Post Office has decided to honor the legendary band Iron Maiden with a collectible series of stamps, according to the Guardian.
The series will consist of 12 stamps and will go on sale on January 12. Eight of these will depict the band’s performances, while a separate 4-stamp edition will feature their famous mascot, Eddie.
“We were all absolutely amazed – in a good way! – when we first heard about the project and equally speechless when we first saw the stamps…They look great and I think they really capture the essence and energy of Maiden,” he said. Steve Harris.
The band was formed in 1975 in London by bassist Steve Harris. He has sold more than 100 million records with 2,500 live performances in 64 countries.
“As a band that has never played by anyone else’s rules for over 40 years, it’s great to see them being honored by their home country,” said their manager Rod Smallwood.
Notably, they are the fifth musical group to be honored with this special edition of stamps, following The Beatles in 2007, Pink Floyd in 2016, Queen in 2020 and The Rolling Stones in 2022.
