New Mexico state prosecutors plan to argue that Mr Alec Baldwin he was unable to control his emotions while shooting the film “Rust”. This resulted in the tragic death of the filmmaker Halyna Hutchins, when the gun the actor was holding went off. According to prosecutors, as the “Guardian” newspaper writes, the actor told “shameless lies” and “changed his story about the fatal shooting.”

The 66-year-old actor is set to go on trial in July on a charge of involuntary manslaughter for his role in Hutchins’ death in Santa Fe. Baldwin has denied wrongdoing. But in a 32-page memo released Monday, April 8, 2024, prosecutor Kari Morrissey claimed the actor was yelling and swearing on set and that his unruly behavior had affected safety.

“Watching Mr. Baldwin’s behavior on the set of “Rust” is like watching a man who has absolutely no control over his emotions and no concern whatsoever for how his behavior affects those around him.”according to prosecutors.

“Witnesses have testified that his very behavior contributed to safety compromises on set.”. And he added: “Each time Mr. Baldwin spoke, a different version of events came out of his mouth, and his later statements contradicted his earlier statements.”.

In March, jurors convicted Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the gunman in the movie “Rust” in a separate trial. She was found guilty of manslaughter.

Progress in the case against Baldwin, who both starred in and produced the film, has been arduous. The original prosecutor resigned and the manslaughter charge was dismissed pending further investigation, before being reinstated last year. In March, the actor’s defense team called for the indictment to be dismissed, citing “abuse of the system.”

Baldwin’s lawyers argue that prosecutors “publicly dragged the actor into the abyss created by their misdeeds.”
