The official trailer for season 2 of the hit thriller series has been released by Netflix “Squid Game“, which will premiere on December 26. As reported by “Deadline”, it is the fifth video released by the official platform, before the premiere.

“Three years after winning ‘Squid Game,’ player 456 cancels trip to US, returns with new resolve”.

According to the official synopsis, “Gi-hun dives back into the mysterious game of survival, starting another life-or-death game with new participants coming together to win the 45.6 billion won prize.”

Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun (Player 456) returns in the lead role and is joined by Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun and Gong Yoo.

New faces joining the cast include Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, and Lee Jin-uk, among others.

Korea’s Hwang Dong-hyuk, who made history at the 74th Primetime Emmys by becoming the first Asian to win the award for best direction for a TV drama series, is again at the helm as director, producer and screenwriter.

Firstman Studio is producing with Kim Ji-yeon at the helm.

The dystopian drama from South Korea premiered in September 2021, topping the most popular TV series on the platform. The third and final season will debut in 2025.
