What happens to your body when you exercise for only 10 minutes a day

by

There are times when you feel very energetic and can stick to your daily exercise and others where even 10 minutes of exercise exhausts you. But, even one feels that when you have no motivation to exercise it is better not to exercise at all than to exercise for only 10 minutes, you are wrong. Every move counts.

It is true that exercising for just 10 minutes a day has many benefits.

In fact, a analysis published in the Journal of Happiness Studies found that you only need 10 minutes of exercise a week to boost your happiness.

“The traffic is always good — whether it’s 10 minutes, 30 minutes or an extra hour,” he says Mike Donavanikfounder of the fitness platform, Sweat Factor. The best part is that adding more traffic to your day “does not have to be aggravating”, said in the podcast of Well + Good the Amanda PaluchPhD, kinesiologist and assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts.

Even 10 minutes can help you build a habit and stay motivated.

In the same episode of the podcast, o Brendon Stubbs, PhD, physiotherapist and lecturer at King’s College, cited a 2018 Japanese study that found that just 10 minutes of gentle cycling improved memory function. So, the next time you feel that your memory is leaving you, practice for 10 minutes. After all, this may be the motivation you need to get moving.

You can listen to the whole episode here.

But if you need more motivation, you should know that the benefits of adding 10 minutes of movement to your day are many. “You will immediately feel more energetic, more flexible, more productive and I am sure you will be in a better mood later,” says Donavanik. “10 minutes is not enough to have a full runner’s high… but it is enough to make you feel better overall.” As you continue to add 10 minutes of movement to your day, it becomes a habit. “I think a lot of it is about building lifelong habits,” says Donavanik. “The movement is good and benefits your overall well-being and longevity – there is no doubt. The more you move the better you will be physically and mentally. If you lead a sedentary lifestyle, you will notice how fast your body responds to movement for just 10 minutes a day. ”

The long-term benefits – from six months to a year or more – “go hand in hand with the above,” says Donavanik. “Although you may not notice it, you will have improved your heart health, your mental health, your strength (depending on the type of activities you decide to do) and just your overall well-being.”

If you are one who thinks that 10 minutes is not enough, then I would say “what do you have to lose?” It’s only 10 minutes of your time. “I bet after these 10 minutes you will feel better than before you started,” says Donavanik.

With the above in mind, here are 3 workouts that only take 10 minutes and can easily put exercise into your daily routine
