Rafael Miguel’s older sister, Camilla, was live on the program Encontro com Fátima Bernardes (Globo) this Tuesday (17). She commented on the arrest of the merchant Paulo Cupertino Matias, suspected of murdering the “Chiquititas” actor and his parents, in 2019.
“I confess, as much as it’s not what people expect, I didn’t feel much, I still haven’t been able to process everything. the arrest of Isabela Tibcherani’s father, Rafael Miguel’s girlfriend, who had been on the run for three years.
Camilla stated that it was years of a lot of frustration for not knowing what was happening in the process. “But we’re still stuck in the process of moving on. We’ve already had our families destroyed. We’ve tried our best to regain our peace, security and happiness,” she said. “May grief and loss not define us and destroy us even more.”
The actor’s sister recalled that she and her family did not have much contact with Isabela’s family, but that the actor reported that the merchant was aggressive. “It wasn’t a very alarming thing, but eventually there were conversations where he exposed how aggressive he was, how scared he was, how he wanted to move in with her, but was afraid.”
She says that the families never got to meet, but that her mother even sent messages “saying that we are a good family, here to help… She had no answer. That was the first attempt in person. [o dia do crime]”.
The family was shot dead in June 2019 while arriving at Isabela’s house, in the Pedreira neighborhood, in the south of São Paulo. Cupertino was hiding in a hotel in the same region where he committed the crime and was located by Civil Police investigators after an anonymous tip.
Camilla says that for the future she will cling to the feeling of “moving on”. “I have small children and I want to provide them with a quality of life, with a healthy mother and happy parents. I want to provide experiences, because they have already lost with their maternal grandparents and uncle. It is a whole reconstruction of life”, he added.
