It’s peaking traffic in the ports of Piraeus and Rafina with the licensed – those who have the possibility of course – to leave for the island of Greece.
This three-day period, more than 100,000 passengers are expected to depart from the port of Piraeus, with destinations in the Cyclades Islands, Crete, Rhodes, the North Aegean and the Argosaronic Sea.
The images broadcast by the SKAI camera and the program “Morning News” this morning from the port of Piraeus are characteristic:
From the data available to the Coast Guard, it appears that from July 1 to 27, 658,421 passengers departed from the port of Piraeus for all destinations and 149,699 passengers from the port of Rafina. Compared to the corresponding period of 2021, an increase of 12.3% is recorded from the port of Piraeus and 11.6% from Rafina. In the corresponding period of 2021, 585,787 passengers had departed from the port of Piraeus, while in 2019, 727,126 passengers had departed.
The port authority has taken all the necessary measures to facilitate the passengers, while it is good for those who are going to travel to be at the ship’s departure dock an hour earlier, due to increased traffic on the surrounding roads.
Buses at the Kifisou and Liosion bus stations are also full, while traffic is expected to increase on the two National Road networks, Athens – Lamia and Athens – Corinth, from noon onwards.
