Androulakis – Papandreou condemn the new murder of women in Alexandroupolis

by

The new genocide that took place in Alexandroupolis was condemned on Facebook by the candidates for the presidency of the Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis and George Papandreou. The 29-year-old woman was beaten to death by her husband.

“Let her be the last victim. She had a name and it is not just a number. Her name was Xevrie Edinerli. He leaves behind 3 orphaned children “says Mr. Androulakis characteristically.

For his part, George Papandreou notes:

“Today we mourn another tragic loss, the 16th genocide in one year.
In the age of pandemics, gender-based violence seems to be on the rise.
However, it is not enough to express only our self-evident sadness and indignation.
Homicide should be considered a separate criminal offense.
We also need to learn from the experience of other countries. To have lines of support for victims of gender-based violence, to provide psychological and legal support and protection, to systematically provide special training to police officers, to organize targeted interventions to change the general culture regarding women, education, media, politics parties, workplaces.
“Together as a society, let us face the horror of this phenomenon.”
