Two more people were added yesterday to this year’s long list of victims at sea.
According to the Coast Guard, yesterday afternoon it was informed about the incident of a missing 66-year-old foreign swimmer, in the sea area “Enhydriou” of Rhodes. Investigations immediately began in the above sea area, with the participation of a patrol boat L.S. – EL.AKT., of a patrol vehicle L.S.-EL.AKT. from land, as well as three (03) E/G-T/R vessels.
The 66-year-old was located and retrieved unconscious from the aforementioned patrol vessel L.S. – EL. AKT. and was transferred to the port of N. Rhodes. Afterwards, he was taken to the “Andreas G. Papandreou” General Hospital of Rhodes, where his death was confirmed and he was recognized by his relatives. An autopsy was ordered by the Central Port Authority of Rhodes, which conducts the preliminary investigation.
Earlier, yesterday at noon, a 72-year-old citizen was pulled unconscious from the sea area of ​​A’Alipedou beach, Alimos, Attica.
The 72-year-old was transported by ambulance to the General Hospital “ASCLIPIO” Voulas, where he was pronounced dead.
From the First Port Department of Flisvos of the Saronic Port Authority, which conducts the preliminary investigation, an autopsy was ordered to be carried out at the Forensic Service of Athens.
