The frigate “Adrias” joined, yesterday, in the “Aircraft Carrier Impact Force” of the French Navy, in the Strait of Sardinia – Corsica. As it was announced, the integration of the frigate took place in the context of the general planning of GEETHA for the augmentation of the allied, bilateral and multilateral actions of the Greek Armed Forces with friends and allies.
It is noted that the navy accompanies the French aircraft carrier “Charles de Gaulle”, which is also its command ship.
From yesterday until Wednesday, February 9, the frigate “Adrias” participates in the operation “Clemenceau 22” which takes place in the sea area of ​​the Central and Eastern Mediterranean, conducting advanced business training activities, in order to upgrade the interoperability between units and the increase in the combat capability of the aircraft carrier “Charles de Gaulle”.
The French company “Clemenceau 22” now includes the Greek frigate and French ships, naval units of Belgium, Germany, the USA, Spain, Italy and Morocco.
Our country’s participation in this operation, is added to the announcement, is part of the recent “Agreement for the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership for Cooperation in Defense and Security”.
