Schools will remain closed tomorrow by decision of the municipality of Mandra-Idyllia
Schools of all educational levels in Villa and Erythres will remain closed tomorrow, Wednesday 31/1.
This decision was taken by the mayor of Mandra-Idyllia, Harmodios Drikos, as the frost that prevails throughout the region makes the movement of students, parents and teachers particularly dangerous.
“Our absolute priority remains the safety of the students, their parents, the educational staff, as well as all our fellow citizens,” said Mr. Drikos and added: “The freezing conditions that prevail in the municipal units of Vilia and Erythra, due to the snowfall , pose risks for the safety and movement of residents, for this reason all school units of all grades in the above two municipal units will remain closed for tomorrow.”
Bad weather has made its presence felt with heavy snowfalls, especially in Villas and Erythres. The municipality is constantly working, both to not close the road network, and to provide help where needed, while at the request of the municipal authority, the fire brigade and army machines help. Heated spaces are available in all municipal units. Salt is available in individual bags at the town hall and in the central squares of the municipality.
