The ship anchored at the Kalamata lighthouse and with assistance the foreigners disembarked on land. One of the rescued was transported by EKAB ambulance to the General Hospital of Kalamata, as he had suffered a lower limb fracture.

As they told the Greek authorities, the people had set off by boat at dawn on October 9 from the Turkish coast, near the city of Fethiye, bound for Italy. In fact, they paid about 8,500 dollars each for their transport, while the possibility of their final destination in Greece was not ruled out.
