Mute pain, devotion and tears in the eyes flooded today on Good Friday, the cemetery of St. George in Ermoupolis, Syros, where the Epitaph was performed through the memoirs.

As Cyclades24 reports, Good Friday, the day of the riding of the Divine Drama for all Christians is taking a special and shocking character here. In the Church of St. George, Jesus’ lifeless body passes through the graves, bringing with him not only the mourning for the crucifixion of God, but also the personal sadness of people for their own losses.

The Vice -Mayor of the Cyclades, the Mayor of Syros – Ermoupolis, representatives of the local government, the Aegean Prosecutor, Mr. Odysseas Tsorbatzoglou, the Greek Scouts and hundreds of faithful accompanied by the lioness. The sounds of mournful municipality from the Municipality Philharmonic enhanced the emotional charge of the ceremony.

Early in the morning, the cemetery space was filled with people who came to honor his loved ones, light a candle and leave a few flowers in the memories. Every family who had lost a man of her own stood silent next to him, waiting for the time to pass the sacred symbol of martyrdom and sacrifice in front of them.

The ceremony was led by His Eminence Metropolitan Dorotheos II, with his presence giving even greater spiritual weight to the liturgy.
