“The prime minister cannot hide. The responsibility belongs to him,” stressed the head of the Finance Department of SYRIZA.
“Mr. Mitsotakis knew about the surveillance. From the first moment he chose to put EYP under his absolute control. He changed the law to put his own man in charge because he didn’t meet the formal qualifications. Change the law so that no citizen can be informed that they are being monitored. Now it’s funny that he claims he didn’t know. This cannot, in any way, be believed.” stated the Efi Ahtsioglou Member of State and Head of Finance Department of K.O. of SYRIZA speaking to “Kokkino 105.5” about the issue of phone surveillance.
“The prime minister cannot hide. The responsibility lies with him and he must answer. Why did he order the surveillance of Mr. Androulakis and investigative journalism? Which other politicians and journalists do they follow? Has the Greek government made use of the predator?”, he added, noting that “a parastatal of surveillance and eavesdropping under Mr. Mitsotakis was revealed. The ministers, the MPs, the politicians of the ND cannot be silent and cover it up.”
Referring to the problem of accuracy, she emphasized that “the government is constantly fueling profiteering” and “plundering the income of citizens”, who “pay the energy cartel directly from their pockets with exorbitant bills and through the State Budget with subsidies”. He pointed out, at the same time, that “in the 7th month the citizens paid approximately 7 billion more in taxes than last year”, while “the government, instead of putting a ceiling on prices and reducing the critical tax rates, plays it safe and says that it has fiscal space for subsidies, but it created the space with the money that citizens pay because of accuracy”.
Finally, Mrs. Ahtsioglou described as “extremely important” the court decision that vindicates the workers of Kavala Fertilizers, as “it does not just cancel the collective dismissals made with the Hatzidakis law, it also judges that there were attempts to harm the public from the company’s side interest”.
