ND for Secretary Kalogritsa’s complaints: Mr. Tsipras must give an immediate explanation

“The case of the former Minister of State of SYRIZA is not only about how the competition for television licenses was set up, but it now touches the leadership of the party that can no longer hide” says ND

A new announcement was issued today, Saturday, by New Democracy calling on Alexis Tsipras to take a position in relation to the allegations made by Christos Kalogritsa’s secretary, Euthalia Diamantis.

The ND announcement:

“The more complaints about the dark activity of his closest associate, Nikos Pappas, in the case of the SYRIZA channel, the more deafening his silence becomes Alexis Tsipras.

Today’s interview of Christos Kalogritsa’s secretary for 40 years, Mr. Ethalias Diamantis, published in the “Parapolitika” newspaper, in combination with what has been revealed, leaves no room for misinterpretation or doubts about the role played by Nikos Pappas and the Cypriot lawyer of the off shore Artemis Artemiou in an unprecedented financial, political and media entanglement case.

The new questions arising from the interview of Mrs. Diamanti are relentless and the leadership of SYRIZA can no longer remain silent:

1. Did Mr. Tsipras not know that Mr. Pappas and Mr. Artemiou as well as other top officials of his government were going in and out of Mr. Kalogritsa’s office in order to set up the SYRIZA channel?

2. What does the president of SYRIZA know about the revealing testimony regarding the financing of his party by Mr. Kalogritsa and also about the payment by him of salaries and other facilities?

3. Mr. Tsipras was aware of the transfers of black money, which, according to the secretary, were made on behalf of SYRIZA from Cyprus and Mr. Pappa’s fellow traveler in Venezuela, Artemis Artemiou, who even asked for a car and security so that he would not get robbed on the way?

4. He knew that Messrs. Pappas and Artemiou, during the television license tender period, assured Mr. Kalogritsa that the money is in Cyprus and Switzerland and he is not going to lose it?

The case of the former SYRIZA Minister of State does not only concern how the competition for television licenses was set up, but now touches the leadership of the party who can no longer hide, as Nikos Pappas does, ignoring the special court.

Mr. Tsipras must provide an immediate explanation as to whether he ultimately knew or not about the suitcases that, according to the businessman’s secretary, ended up in the SYRIZA fund, but also to answer whether he will sue Mr. Kalogritsa as a common slanderer.

After all, the answers to the complaints of the witness in front of the special court about the bags with the black money that went from Mr. Kalogritsa to SYRIZA executives and friendly journalists are still pending.”
