The president of PASOK-KINAL, Nikos Androulakis participated on Wednesday morning in the proceedings of the European Socialists’ pre-session in Brussels.

Mr. Androulakis had a discussion with the President of the European Council on the sidelines of the proceedings Antonio Costa, the Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez and the head of the Eurogroup of Socialists and Democrats Irace Garcia Perez.

In his statements, the president of PASOK-KINAL noted, among other things:

“The election of Trump and the rapid developments in Syria create a new geopolitical framework for Europe. A framework of multiple challenges. That is why the initiatives must immediately succeed the embarrassment. The European army, the strengthening of the Single Foreign Policy, the joint armament programs, are some important steps.

Of course, Greek diplomacy must also act immediately, together with the European one, to prevent a new dangerous scenario of a “Turkish-Libyan pact”, now with Syria.

Immediate solidarity and joint initiatives. It is one way to respond to the developments that create new instability in the wider region”.
