Panathinaikos-PAOK: The first of three finals for the “clover”

Panathinaikos and PAOK cross their swords tonight (03/05, 20:00, Cosmote Sport 3, bwin SPORTS FM 94.6, sport-fm.gr) at Leoforo, as part of the 8th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League.

Tonight will be the their sixth meeting this year, as they had preceded those in the Greek Championship and Cup, with each team counting two victories, while one match ended in a draw.

As it is easy to see, Ivan Jovanovic’s team holds their… luck in their hands, as they have in front of them three “final”, starting with tonight to make it 3 out of 3 and win the title. Panathinaikos is in a very good “moon”, as it maintains 13 game unbeaten streak (9 wins), while, in 11 of them, she has kept a clean sheet!

On the other hand, Mr PAOK it comes from the home victory and even with an upset in the Thessaloniki derby against the opponent Mars (3-2), thus ending a three-game hitting streak. A result that kept the “Northern Doubleheader” in 4th place in the standings and at -3 from the third Olympiakos (66 vs. 63 points).

PAOK’s goal in these last three matches is none other than to cover the gap with the “red and whites” and finish in the 3rd place in the standings. Let’s remember that apart from Panathinaikos, the “black and white” are still playing with Volos (away) and Olympiakos (in).
