The silver medal went to the Italian Palmisano with 1:29:19 and the bronze to Ana Campesinia (Portugal) who had the patience and strength to move into third place in the last two kilometers, leaving the Ukrainian in fourth place.
Drisbioti won two gold medals in the event, after winning both the 35 km. in the 2021 event.
Christina Padopoulou competed in the same distance and took 17th place with 1:34:30 and improved her year’s record, achieving the second performance of her career at the distance.
The third Greek participation in the distance was Olga Fiaska who finished in 28th place with 1:38:55. Our country won the fifth place in the team competition among the nine countries that participated in the team competition.
“It was a very nice match. All the great athletes who will compete in the World Cup were there to claim the medals. I managed to get to victory and I did it because I followed the plan that we had made with my coach and I managed the race correctly. I was in control, I made the attacks to see the condition of the other athletes, I stayed behind when I had to rest and finally with an attack after the 16 km I reached the victory“, said Drisbioti.
