Rogavopoulos on sport-fm.gr: “We will give everything against the USA – We are not going with defeatism”

Victory in the premiere with a good performance at times for the National Team. How did you experience it from the inside?

“I think it was an important moment for all of us, we enjoyed it. Gradually we rolled and managed to get the gap. We are continuing, the tournament has a long way to go, we are happy but we are moving on”.

The team seemed to adapt quickly to problems and absences, we saw quite a few formations without a five and with different fours, but the team seemed to work well.

“First of all, congratulations to Dinara (s.s. Mitoglou), he is a very important player for us and we wanted him with us. I wish him to get well as soon as possible, from then on we have to adapt to the players we have and the team we have, and that’s what we’re doing.”

For a good shooter like you, that 8/15 that Greece had at the start of the match must have been something very pleasing for the team.

“We keep going, it was just one game. We have to be more consistent during the match, and we are moving forward.”

Now Greece has in front of them a theoretically “easy” game against the USA as there is no pressure, and a “final” against New Zealand.

“We don’t see it that way, we’re going to give everything to win the game, we never go in with a sense of defeat. In all games at the World Cup there is pressure.”
