What do you think? (Credit: Reddit / Segu1n)

About a week ago, the internet began posting images of strange dog-like creatures that appeared to be standing on two legs.

The photo was taken at night by an automatic camera pointed at the border fence at the Amarilo Zoo.

Strange bipedal creatures appear to be walking outside the zoo, and social media has started swapping theories about what it is.

City officials are now issuing public requests for help from citizens in solving the mystery.

From the official Amarilo account, Twitter asked, “Do people with weird hats like to walk around at night? Chupacabra? Any idea what this unidentified Amarilo object is in this UAO?”

Chupacabra, which may seem strange, is a vampire dog-like creature from American folklore. They are about the size of a small bear and are said to eat cows and sometimes humans at night.

The original image was posted on Reddit by an anonymous user who claimed to come from the zoo’s Facebook group.

“The janitor said he couldn’t figure out what it was by recording a photo with the trail camera pointed at the boundary fence,” wrote the uploader, who goes by the thread handle @Segu1n.

“I think it was aimed at the fence that surrounds the inside of the zoo.”

Offerings ranged from the fantastical Mr. Fox to one of the werewolves in the classic 2002 sci-fi horror film Dog Soldiers.

Another Reddit user came up with a more creative proposal. “This is a little boy with a dead coyote skull on his head. If you look closely, you can see the spatula used on the animal skin in the little boy’s left hand.

The user responsible for Snape explained that the zoo staff had never seen anything like this on any automated camera.

“OP’s other posts are at least a year old and are all regular animal guard type posts,” Segu1n writes.

The case appears to be handled by a city leader. I want to find a solution to this mystery soon.
