The United States recorded late Wednesday afternoon (1st) a new shooting attack, this time in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
According to police, at least three people were killed and others were injured, a number not yet specified. The gunman, who was carrying a rifle, also died at the scene, it is not known if by the action of the security forces or if he killed himself after the action.
The attack took place at St. Francis. Police said in a statement that agents were combing every room in the building to analyze the risk of new threats.
The action comes just eight days after a massacre at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, which left 19 children and 2 teachers dead. This also followed another case, in Buffalo, New York, in which ten people died in a supermarket.
The two episodes triggered the resumption of the discussion on gun control in the United States. After the attack in Uvalde, President Joe Biden gave an emotional speech in which he criticized the pro-gun lobby in the country and defended control over access to weapons.
“I’m tired of this,” he said. “Why? Why are we willing to live with this carnage? Why do we keep letting this happen? When in God’s name are we going to stand up and face the gun lobby?”
