“The Eurasian Economic Union is the world’s largest exporter, and Russia is ready to immediately fulfill its obligations,” said the Russian Prime Minister
The West, led by the US is to blame for the global food crisis, not Moscow, Russia’s prime minister argued on Friday Michael Mishustin.
The US-led West is trying to pin the blame for the global food crisis on Moscow, but the Western establishment is well aware that it is largely to blame for the current quagmire, the Russian prime minister has argued.
“Western countries are trying to blame our country for the global food crisis, knowing full well that the current situation is a direct consequence of their actions,” he told an enlarged meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
Illegal sanctions against Russia have exacerbated global negative trends as international financial [θεσμοί]logistics companies and banks have stopped providing loans, insurance and servicing for the sale of food and fertilizer from Russia, while port terminals abroad have been blocked, the Russian prime minister said.
“Here the members of the ‘five’ (ie the Eurasian Economic Union – EAEU includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan) have obvious advantages. We have reached a high level of self-sufficiency in basic agricultural goods The EAEU is the world’s largest exporter and we are ready to fulfill our obligations in full and on time,” Mishustin insisted.
Both Russia and other members of the association contribute a lot to solving food security problems and act very responsibly, he added.
“I urge my colleagues [μας] to maintain this course and do what is necessary for the development of agriculture and to defend the interests of our own producers and to make consistent decisions on the creation of a single agricultural market”, concluded the Prime Minister of Russia.
