Aris left Toumba again “unscathed” and victorious!
For the third time in a row, the “yellows” kept compatriot PAOK to zero in Toumba and with a goal… his magic Manu Garcia prevailed 1-0 as part of the 6th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League!
The “yellows” were perfectly prepared, whenever they needed him Quest and luck were on their sidesince PAOK had two goals with Tisundali and Baba. Excellent match by Manu Garcia and Diadi for Aris, only Bakayoko was saved by the home team.
At Meadow the Greek champions, the Ghoul hosted by Aris at “Kleanthis Vikelidis”.
In the minds of the coaches:
With the established now 4-2-3-1 and a total of four changes lined up in the derby PAOK the Razvan Lucescu. The Romanian coach chose Kotarski in goal with Otto, Kenziora, Michaelidis and Baba in defense. Schwab with Bakayoko on the axis, while the trio behind the sole forward, Tisundali, was Zivkovic, Constantelias and Tyson.
On the other side o Akis Manzios line me up 4-3-3 him Marshaving as the only change Montoya instead of Mayo compared to the match against Olympiakos. Questa in goal with Montoya, Brambetz, Veleth and Friedek in the back four. Moncu-Sifuentes and GarcÃa in the midfield, while Diadi, Sisto and Moron started in the attacking trio.
The match:
With the two teams “reading” the game, the first minutes of the Toumba derby passed and Aris had more time with the ball at his feet, PAOK was trying to get closer to his area Quest. His first final match was recorded in the 10th minute and even though it was very wrong, it hid a lot of… magic! Pressing high with him Constantia to “dance” three players of Mars, laid left to Tyson, he immediately to Bakayokowho left it again to Konstantelias, but the young man’s shot went far from the “yellow” target.
The home team improved their performance in 16′ they threatened again. Konstantelias stole the ball again and passed it to Tisundali, who burst into the area, cut back, the ball was laid back to the youngster, whose shot went against Friedek.
On the other side, Aris had “tightened” his center and won a corner from the left in the 23rd minute. Monchu took over the execution, the ball took a lot of fouls and went narrowly wide with Kotarski caught off guard.
PAOK’s “answer” came seconds later. Terrible slash by Zivkovic at Otto’s overlapthe Spaniard broke into the area from the right, tried to beat Cuesta from a difficult position, but the Spaniard parried and Friedek cleared.
The hosts continued to play from the right and in the 27th minute they almost opened the scoring. Tyson collected Otto’s lift which created space, the Brazilian turned alongside Tisundali’s drive, the Moroccan squared in from the touchline but the ball hit Cuesta’s right-hand post with Friedek clearing.
The minutes went by with Aris looking for an opportunity as well Sisto, Diadi to switch sides. The young winger of the “yellows” in the 35th minute missed a great opportunity to put his team in front of the score when, from a counterattack, the ball was placed in the air, he shot directly into the left corner, with Kotarski blocking.
PAOK did not leave unanswered the warnings of Aris and the 38′ it almost went ahead again with Constantelia as the protagonist. Otto’s lift, turn at the height of the penalty, just ahead of the small area, but the unguarded Constantelia’s place shot went wide of the right vertical post of Questa.
Just before the first part left. Akis Manzios was forced to make his first substitution as Veleth felt discomfort with Roz to take his place.
The last good moment of the first half came again from the feet of Orexato Konstantelia, who made a terrific slalom to find himself in a shooting position and shot with the ball on the counter and away for a corner which went wide unexploited despite the efforts of Michaelides.
The second half started with no changes, but with Aris looking to surprise PAOK with Diadi receiving deep balls from Modsou, he pressed into the area, Schwab countered him, but the youngster shot, but Kotarski punched away.
The hosts tried mainly with individual actions to get to Cuesta’s frames. In one of them, Tyson attacked in front of the axis, took the shot outside the area, but the ball went just wide.
The Aris players became more aggressive and in the 57th minute they almost made it 0-1! Terrible energy by Diadi, who stepped into the area from the left, turned to Moron, he crossed, Sisto entered the phase and the ball went out for a corner.
What the “yellows” failed to do with an organized attack, Manu Garcia did it with magical energy and “froze” Toumba. From Montoya’s throw-in, the Spaniard took the ball from the right, withstood Baba’s marking, held his ground and with a terrific outside shot sent the ball into the tight corner of Kotarski, who was responsible for 0-1 !
The two coaches shuffled their deck by making changes, in order to freshen up their teams and get the best they can from the bench.
Despodov’s entry into the match seems to have “confused” the PAOK players, who with deep, diagonal balls to the back of the Aris defense, were looking for the Bulgarian without success.
PAOK pressed and missed its most valuable moment in the 84th minute from stoppage time. Corner from Despodov, movement by Chalov at the front post and a header behind, with the unguarded Baba missing a unique opportunity, after marking the crossbar of Cuesta from contact!
The last good moment of the match came from Chalov two minutes later when he combined with Zivkovic and Constantelia, but his left-footed shot from inside the box ended up in the arms of Cuesta.
MVP: The golden scorer of Aris, Manu Garthia, decided the derby with a magical goal, he gave his team a second consecutive “three points” and even in a derby!
The “whistle”: Osmers refereeing was excellent in the derby! Although in the first part he whistled a lot, in the second he completely controlled the match and the phases, being close to them and he definitely gets a big… point!
